KANATTA, ONTARIO—Canada’s top music education academy is set to expand to every province in the country with a new music academy.
The Kanata Music Academy, located in the town of Kanata, Ontario, is set for a three-year expansion with a permanent location in the new city of Kanatawa.
The academy will offer both online and in-person classes, and will offer a variety of music styles from hip-hop to country.
It will also be home to two new high school programs, one in the arts and music and one in visual arts and theatre.
The new school will be a magnet school with more than 10,000 students, with the first graduating class in 2020.
It is the latest in a series of initiatives by the Kanata City School Board, which has spent $300 million on the expansion and renovation of the school.
Kanata Mayor Mike Wysocki said the school’s future is about connecting the children with the community and the province.
“We want to be the place where the kids feel comfortable and they feel part of the community,” Wysampi said.
“They feel safe and the city will continue to have that.”
“We’re very excited to be able to welcome these new members to our community,” he said.
